Ransomware continues to be one of the most significant cybersecurity risks for healthcare organizations. Over the last few months, attacks have been increasing while the time to proliferate throughout a network has significantly decreased. Last month the FBI, CISA, and HHS issued a joint cybersecurity advisory titled “Ransomware Activity Targeting the Healthcare and Public Health Sector.” In response, the Fortified team has spoken with over 250 healthcare organizations; some of the outcomes of those discussions and Fortified’s recommendations will be shared during the VTT.
Through participation in this VTT series, healthcare information security executives have an opportunity to collaborate with their peers and collectively develop better answers that are both data-driven and experience-based. You will be part of an engaged community of healthcare thought leaders, exchanging information and ideas on how to improve healthcare cybersecurity and, ultimately, patient security during these unprecedented times.
Some critical topics that will be explored during this part of the series include:
- An update on the healthcare cybersecurity threats
- Short and long-term recommendations to address ransomware threats
- Incident response strategies and best practices
