Vulnerability Assessment
A Vulnerability Assessment is a rigorous evaluation of a healthcare organization’s vulnerability to reasonably anticipated threats to electronic Protected Health Information (ePHI). This includes those threats that are unique to the circumstances of the facility’s environment.
The assessment includes a comprehensive vulnerability scan of internal and external environments, along with a report that outlines a prioritized list of vulnerabilities and recommended actions for remediation. Following the assessment, Fortified security advisors provide consultative guidance to organizations to help them address the common issue of ineffective patching due to lack of prioritization, cultural and resource challenges, inconsistent results, and lack of actionable information.
Fortified works closely with healthcare organizations to ensure that vulnerability scan data is both meaningful and actionable, including recommendations for improvement and strategies for reducing vulnerabilities within existing patch management programs.
In some cases, Fortified’s ongoing Vulnerability Threat Management services may be more appropriate to an organization’s needs. Learn more Vulnerability Threat Management.
